The Salt Cay Writers Retreat curriculum is particularly suited for literary and upmarket commercial fiction writers, memorists and narrative non-fiction writers. However, any author (published or not-yet-published) who wishes to take their writing to the next level is welcome to apply.
Attendance is limited to 65.
Tuition Fees and Deadlines:
Upon acceptance to the Salt Cay writing program, a $500 non-refundable deposit holds your place and completes the registration process. Tuition balance is due August 1, 2013.
Early registration (before June 1, 2013): $3,450
After June 1, 2013: $3,950
Tuition fees include 6 days of workshops and individual instruction on Salt Cay; transportation every day between the Comfort Suites hotel and the island; lunch on the island Monday-Saturday; dolphin swim workshop ; Sunday evening sunset dinner cruise; Saturday evening island feast, and 3 other dinners for a total of 5 evening meals. 2 free evenings allow registrants time to write, swim, relax, or explore nearby Atlantis Resort & Casino or Nassau.
Tuition fees do not include hotel room or transportation to and from Nassau. Registrants can book their stay at the Comfort Suites hotel at deeply discounted rates. An American-style breakfast buffet is included with your room at the Comfort Suites hotel.

REFUND POLICY:
Refunds, less a 50% cancellation fee, may be obtained before July 15, 2013. PLEASE NOTE: tuition fees WILL NOT be refunded after July 15, 2013.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Backspace LLC reserves the right to cancel this retreat without penalty, its liability limited to a refund of registration fees except upon the invocation of the Force Majeure clause below.
Force Majeure: Should events beyond Backspace’s control including but not limited to strikes, Acts of God (including fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane or other natural disaster), government intervention, terrorism, or civil disturbances prevent Backspace from holding this retreat, such non-performance is excused without further liability of any nature. In no event shall Backspace be liable for consequential damages of any nature for any reason whatsoever.
